WHAT TO EXPECT
We provide comprehensive inventories and appraisal reports, which are trcognized by financial
institutions, insurance brokers and conform to regulations by government agencies, including the
Canadian Revenue Agency and the Canadian Property Export Review. Professionals who are
trained in appraisal theory, principles, proceures and ethics conduct and appraisals.
All appraisals reports comply with the uniform standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP)
of the Appraisal Foundation and the Appraisal Report Writing Standard and Code Ethics of the
International Society of Appraisers.
We tailor each valuation to the collector and the collections working with single items through the
large corporate or institutional collections.
MOST COMMON QUESTIONS WE ARE ASKED
When is an appraisal necessary?
An appraisal is necessary to determine value in regards to insurance coverage, tax liability, chari-
table distributions, capital gains and equitable distribuyions of property. It is recommended that
appraisals are updated every five years or concurrent to market changes in order to keep the
value current.
How much does an appraisal typically cost?
Appraisals are priced in relation to the extent of the requestet appraisal. We provide our clients with
esrimates after the appraiser has garnered a good understanding of the client's objectives and
size of the collrction beeing appraised.
Payment
Once the client has approved the estimate a 50% deposit is required for the appraiser to begin their
work.
Timeline
If only one piece of artwork is tobe appraised, it can usually be completed within 2 - 3 days.
Appraisals consisting of 3 - 12 pieces can usually be completed within 7 - 10 days.Timelines for
larger appraisals will be discussed and in agreement with the client.
FEES
Professional Service Fee per Appraisal: $ 75.00
Research: $ 90.00 per hour (research usually takes
1 - 1.5 hours)
Daily Rate: $ 750.00
Travel fees are negotiable and based on the price of fuel and distance.
